Promos

Another of my many subsets are Promos.  They come in many names.  Samples, promo,

preview, prototype and many others.  There are other categories that are close.  Enter to Win,

Join the Club, Limited Edition, Special Collection, Redeemable, Coming Soon, Bonus Offer

and many more.

The Predictor is Joe Montana

All sports are included

Some promos see to be smaller print runs.  Do you think they're more valuable?

  1. Good stuff. I have two binders full of Promo, Sweepstakes, Mail-in, Special Offer, Etc. cards. I love 'em!

  2. I remember getting some sample Tony Gwynn cards mailed to the newspaper office back in the late '90s. I wasn't collecting then and had no idea what they were. I thought they were valuable because it said "Sample" on it. ... I still don't really understand what they are.

  3. These all look like 90's cards. You don't see promos anymore. I guess no need for promotion when you've got a monopoly.

  4. I love collecting promos, because they take me back to my early years of teaching and working at my LCS. The shop had a box full of them (mostly Upper Deck) and I grab a few here and there. I treasured them enough (even though they aren't very valuable) to hold onto them after I sold my collection off in the early 2000's. Today I add new ones (new to my collection... since they're mostly from the 90's) whenever I find them at the flea market or at card shows at reasonable prices.
