Fuji asked, 3 days in a row

A week ago, I went to a card show about a 1/2 hour away.   Best local show I've been to in a while.

70 tables with only 4 or 5 Pokemon.  Amazingly there were 5 tables with Dime boxes.  After finding a

few cards at the 2nd table I came across this card in the dime boxes.

At first glance it looked like any other '87 Hygrades.   But it just looked different.
When I got home sure enough there are no signatures on these cards.
After studying other Ernie autos, it sure looks like it's real.

Some other interesting dime box finds.  Super WWII spy, Moe Berg.
His biography is very interesting.

Might make my list of favorite Oddballs.

  1. a. You've surpassed my total number of posts this month in three days. Nice. I'd ask about four... but don't want to put any pressure on you :D

    b. Whenever you go to a card show and dime box tables meets or exceeds the number of Pokemon tables, it's a GREAT show.

    c. Congratulations on finding an Ernie Banks autograph in a dime box. That's insane. That Moe Berg card is really cool too. I remember reading about his story, but have never seen that set before.

  2. 1) sweet Banks for sure.
    2) show sounds AWESOME!
    3) That 96' Pinnacle not an oddball, but somehow I don't remember it in the set. I hope I find another one so I can put it in my Wacky Binder, love it!

  3. Wow. I once found a Willie Randolph auto in a dime box that I think is real. Which was pretty great...but that's nothing next to ERNIE BANKS!
